Appliqué is a technique used to either reduce the stitch count in an embroidery design or create special effects in the design by using different materials to balance with the garment. Designs On U Ltd have their own computerised laser and inhouse design facilities to create appliqué designs.
Appliqué is not just confined to applications with workwear it is used in fashion design, sportswear and we have embroidered appliqué designs for designers and companies like Victoria Bain, Geronimo marketing, Sports professionals and we offer appliqué cutting and application as a service to our trade customers who do not have inhouse facilities.
Appliqué fabrics should be carefully chosen so that they do not stretch unduly as this may move when the appliqué is being applied and it is not suitable for small areas with tight corners. If you would like our help with your appliqué design please contact our design department.
Laser Cutting Appliqué Designs
We have our own inhouse laser to cut appliqué designs up to 400 X 600 bed plate area. We also use the latest Wilcom E-Studio software to design the appliqué for you so that you can either stitch or embroider the design if you have your own machine or we can complete the project for you.
